Local Events in the Treasure Valley

More Fun at Home!

Everywhere you look in your city there are fun little events – even on a Monday night and the Treasure Valley is no exception. Check Facebook, or your local news sites for information on what’s going on in your area and make any night a special event. Celebrate Life anyday of the week. Celebrate with gratitude just for being alive! You don’t need a reason to have a fun evening — just grab the opportunity to experience something new whenever and as often as you can.

Last night we had the pleasure of visiting one of our local wineries who were offering an event they call “Telaya Monday Nights” where they open for extended hours with a vendor serving food from 4pm until close. Last evening the featured food vendor was Crisp! Having never heard of them (Crisp) before we decided it was a great opportunity to introduce Van (my partner in crime) to some really great local wine and for us to have dinner out.

Just as the beautiful almost full Snow Moon began to rise in the sky over the Boise Foothills at sunset, we headed towards Boise to 32nd Street in Garden City. A short block brings you to the parking lot for Telaya Wine Co which sits overlooking the beautiful Boise River and the Boise Greenbelt. Known for their red wines made from grapes sourced both in Idaho and Washington, Telaya has won many awards for their wines. The winery is generally open from everyday for wine and tastings but they do not have a kitchen. They frequently invite food vendors to park just outside their door where their customers can grab a bite to eat and bring it inside to enjoy with their wine. Customers are also welcome to bring their own snacks with them to enjoy with their wine as well. Telaya’s outside patio is very popular in the warmer months with the beautiful view outside.

We were able to taste all of the Idaho sourced red wines last night and settled on the Merlot as our choice for the evening. Crisp did not disappoint with their homemade shrimp pasta and delicious shrimp tacos. We enjoyed looking at the artwork in the winery, watching the other customers enjoying their wine with their friends, and the impecable service! Telaya is definitely worth a visit if you ever find yourself in the Treasure Valley area. We will look forward to more Monday night events!

Telaya’s Wines have won many awards around the country. For a list of their awards and more about the winery itself check out their website: https://www.Telayawine.com
