I decided that I didn’t need to be such an overachiever this trip – HAHA! At least I don’t intend to blog every single day since mostly what I’m doing is relaxing and breathing. It was time to listen to the sound of the waves, sleep in and unwind from the recent stresses of life.
So off to our Vidanta Timeshare we go in Neuvo Vallarta. This is the second trip to this resort…the first one with Van. It’s impossible to describe the magnitude of such a resort until you walk the grounds and experience it for yourself. There are endless pools to choose from…clear blue skies and mid 80’s everyday this week. The sun is energizing. The spas are the best! People are friendly and the staff here is ever so accommodating and respectful. This for me is heaven on earth. While is doesn’t offer the exciting business of some of my travel, it offers quiet and respite from life. I can relax and not feel guilty here. The sun calls me everyday. I treat myself to the spa at least once and never regret it.
My concierge greeted us with the groceries that I ordered in advance shortly after we arrived. It was perfect! We can eat in or go out as we prefer! We enjoy sitting in our room and watching the sunset so at least sometimes, we enjoy dinner in our suite too. We like being lazy in the morning and eating breakfast on our schedule. We have a great view of the ocean since we are in the building right on the point of the river and ocean. The resort has grown and another building opened since last year when I was here. It has a beautiful rooftop view! (I will try to take some pictures to share tomorrow as I hear breakfast is there tomorrow.)
Yesterday was the first day on the grounds and we walked a lot…so today I’m slowing down the pace and resting. Spanish lessons started the day, followed by stretching class on a SUP in a pool. Next week I will take a lesson on a SUP in the ocean…just wasn’t up to it today. (It’s only offered on Monday or Tuesday so I’m counting on being fully recharged by next Monday!) I did a nature walk and watched an egret eating a crab it had just caught, saw lots of birds, including a hummingbird that hung out on a branch so I could photograph it. There were beautiful Birds of Paradise just starting to bloom, along with Trumpet Flowers and many others. After watching a perfect sunset, we strolled the entire complex at night. Quite a long walk so my feet were tired and sore by the end. It garnered me a nice foot rub with Melaleuca oil and I feel much better today…although a little lazy and sore.
It’s a good lesson to pace yourself at a new place. As well as a lesson to wear good shoes instead of flip flops. So today I will recover a little, spend a short time working on my tan, then enjoy a relaxing deep tissue massage…well maybe a little painfully relaxing and a lot therapeutic! Either way, with enough water to flush the body toxins out – I will be reenergized tomorrow!
